Since the beginning of documented civilization, labyrinths and spiral patterns have been found everywhere ancient indigenous people have lived and traveled.

The spiral, an early symbol for the sun, is the most common ancient symbol found everywhere people have settled or visited. Because ancient people believed the sun died every evening and was reborn in the mornings, spirals decorate ancient tombs, crypts and burial sites to represent this cycle of life, death and rebirth.
